Big Steps...

Harper has been showing interest in going potty in the big potty lately. To the point she will take her pants and diaper off and try to get on the potty. She will tell us she has to go, she may have just gone in her diaper but she is being good about telling us, most of the time. So the other day Casey and I got her a potty chair at Wal Mart. Thinking why not, we will have to at some point neways. So she will sit on it before she takes a bath. But nothing happens. I am at work yesterday, Friday, and get a text from Carolyn "Harper just pooped in the potty!!!!" We were so excited. She was eating breakfast, told Carolyn she had to poop, sat on the potty, and there it was. It scared her but she did it. Then this morning, she woke me up, "Momma popo in potty", so I got up took her to her little potty. We sat in there for about 15 minutes but she did it. Yes it scared her again. She got up, I put her back on there and she went again. That really scared her, she stood up looked in her potty and more came out. But I was okay with cleaning that up since she went in the potty. So I put her on the big potty to finish and she went some more. I told her big of girl she was and she was so happy. I had to call my mom about pictures today so Harper told her Poo poo in potty. Who knows if this is really going to lead into full potty training but I think it is a good start!

Preparing...

for thanksgiving at our house. We have been so busy lately. I have several pics to post and will do so at a later time. But I thought I would post tonight. Since we moved back to Columbia we have had both sides of the family over along with GA's for Thanksgiving dinner. Casey has practice in the morning so it is easiest to have it at our house in the early evening. Everyone brings something so no one has to do everything. This past summer we picked tons of cherries off the cherry tree right outside our front door. I have never made a homemade pie or cobbler in my life but Casey and I decided at some point we would since we have all these great cherries. So the time has come. Casey decided that we should make cobbler or pie for Thanksgiving dinner. So last night (Monday) we made a cherry cobbler from a recipe he found online. It was pretty good. Then tonight (Tuesday) we made a cherry pie. I got the crust recipe from a friend in Manhattan and the filling recipe from Casey's mom. We did the latis (sp?) top and everything. It smells so good. But we decided we would wait until Thanksgiving dinner to cut it and see how it tastes. I can't wait to see how it turned out. It looks good, the true test will be the taste!! :) I will have to post pictures later. It was alot of fun the last 2 nights. All three of us, Casey, Harper, and I, in the kitchen making this together. Harper was a great help. She poured, she stirred, and tonight helped cut the pie crust for the latis (sp?).

I was supposed to have my big ultrasound on Nov 24 and find out what we are having but I asked Dr Wilson if we could move it up. So she called Dr Grants office and I go MONDAY!!! I am so excited. Yes I know I am the baby here. I just want to know! :) So after 8:30am Monday morning we should know what the baby is. SO EXCITED!

Tigers, Pumpkins, and More

Lots of fun pictures to share!

Uncle Tom carved Harper's face in a pumpkin. It is pretty cool!!! He did it off a picture we took of her.

Carving pumpkins on Sunday night. Harper put golf tees in the pumpkin then hammered them in. She had lots of fun!

I'm Back!

So I have been slacking on blogging for awhile now. I had a conference in Indianapolis, IN to go to for 6 days last week. I did not have internet unless I went down to the business office. I was way to tired when we got back to the hotel to think about that. So I am finally back and have tried catching up on laundry, the house, and everything else. We are getting ready to go to the MIZZOU homecoming game. Hopefully we bring home a victory! GO TIGERS!!!

Harper 18 months

Harper had her 18 month appt with Dr K this morning. 18 months! I can't believe it! Time flies. She was so good. She weighs 24 pounds, and 32.5" tall. She was so funny. It was the first time she got to stand on the scale for weight and next to the wall to get measured. She stood so tall and happy. Then she was so good in the room. She play and talked and did just about everything. Casey and I got flu shots so she watched that. Then at the end she got her flu shot, she did really well, let out a cry when they stuck her then she was fine. She is just getting so big. So if the winter goes well she does not go back until she is 2 years old and her brother or sister is here!! Wow that is weird to say, but is very exciting!!

Baby Update

I had a doctors appointment yesterday (Monday). Things went really well. The baby's HR was in the 160s which is good. He or she is really low, again. Harper stayed low the whole 9 months. Who knows what this one will decide to do. I have gained 4 pounds since my last drs appt. I have not been feeling well. But hopefully that will get better soon. I am also not sleeping at night, between getting up to go the bathroom and my hips hurting it makes for a long long night. I talked to Dr Wilson about migraines. I have woke up with a migraine about every morning for the last 2 weeks. Not fun!! But things are going well with the baby and the baby is healthy so for that, I am happy and will put up with all the other things.

Ike hits Wilson's

I got a text this morning around 7:30am from a friend of mine saying Wilson's is flooded from all the rain. I think yeah yeah the back parking lot like usual when we get some rain. She said no this is worse than I've ever seen, it is almost to the front door. So I tell Casey. I wasn't feeling the best this morning so I told him I thought going to McD's for breakfast sounded good. I know I know not healthy but it was good! :) So when Harper woke up we loaded up to get breakfast and drive by Wilson's. I took the camera just in case Jentry was for real. We found a mess!! Then after Casey went to work I get a phone call from a lady I work with that we will be closed until at least Wednesday morning and we will be doing some clean up when we can. So I had to go up to work to get some numbers and it was crazy! We always hear about flooding and everything but it never seems real until it hits home. In the main building we do not have water yet. We have a parking garage under us so that helps but it is all the way up to the top of that/bottom of the building. MAC Soccer and FIT are under. They think there is about 8 ft of water in them. It is amazing to see. I got a call from a lady at work that we are going to be closed until at least Wednesday morning. This way we can get the place around Wilson's cleaned up. I went in for a few minutes. It was crazy to see how high the water was. Later this evening Casey and I got out because I got another call that we are going to try to start cleaning up in the morning. The water has gone down quite a bit but it is still high on the buildings.

MU vs SEMO

MU played SEMO last night. It was Harper's first football game this year. I took her last year but she doesn't remember so I wasn't sure how it was going to go. She loved it! She danced, yelled, cheered, watched, and played.
Harper watching the guys warmup during pregame. Notice the new Nike. Her other shoes were to little, figured this out on Thursday. She hasn't worn them all summer because she is either barefoot or in sandels. So it was a fast trip to the store Thursday evening so she would have shoes for the game. She loved them!!

Touchdown tigers! This was pregame practice!
She cheered so hard for the Tigers!
She was so into the game.
TOUCHDOWN J MAC!
Harper wearing Shayla's sunglasses lookin cool at the game.

So hopefully some people are proud of me (Sherri and Bailey) that it is Sunday and I am posting about the game yesterday!! I have done alot of posting tonight to get caught up! I am tired now!

MU vs Illinois

Harper and I went to my parents for the weekend of the MU vs Illinois game. We had alot of fun. It was fun to look back at the pictures from last year of her watching the game.

TOUCHDOWN J MAC!! She loves to do TOUCHDOWN for J Mac. That is sometimes the only way we can get her to do it.
Mid game snack-- making cookies. She is a great help!
Yes she even had a little cookie dough herself. I made them without eggs so it is okay!! :)

Someone please feed this child!!

Harper's dinner was Ravoli. She was so hungry. When I turned around to fix her some more shew as licking the bowl. I do feed her. She eats all day long.

Final product after 2 bowls of ravoli!

Messy Night!

Parents As Teachers had a Messy Night a few weeks ago. I had to work late so Hap, Carolyn, and Carole Kennedy took Harper until I could get off work and meet them. Carole took some great pics of Harper. I have waited to post about this until I got the pics from Carolyn. Harper had so much fun!!

Harper playing in spaghetti noodles and pudding. It was hard for her not to eat it because spaghetti is one of her favorites!

Finger painting in ketchup and mustard. Ketchup is another favorite!

Finger painting in pudding. She really liked this one!
This was probably Harper's favorite station. She loved painting boxes!

Of course she loved the water!
What's next Mama?
Final station of the night! FOOD and even better graham crackers and chocalate icing!!

Tagged - "6 Most Interesting Quirks"

I have been at my parents house this past weekend and they are getting thier computer fixed so I am a little delayed in posting. I do have several posts to do but I will start with this one.

Sherri tagged me to come up with the "6 most interesting quirks" about myself. This could be interesting but hard. So here it goes... (in no order)

1. I hate spiders. It doesn't matter how big or small it will be the biggest spider I have ever seen and I will not go near it. Funny thing, when I subbed for CPS I had a terantrala in my room for a week. I was supposed to do several things with it but I had another teacher come in to do it for me.

2. In my closet Casey has all white hangers and I have all black hangers. Our clothes are grouped together by what they are. My space and his space, then within that they are grouped together. Ex... mu short sleeves, work shirts, dress shirts, tank tops, jeans, shorts, etc...

3. I will not sleep on sheets after I shower if the night before I did not shower but showered in the morning. So if I showered this morning, I will not take a shower tonight and sleep in my sheets, they must be changed. Also, if one showers at night, we both shower at night, don't want to sleep on dirty sheets.

4. I check the doors of my house several times to make sure they are locked. Casey gets so upset because I check them at least 2-3 times before I will go to bed.

5. I usually order the same thing at restruants each time I go. When I find something I like at places I just stick to the tried and true.

6. It does not matter how hot it is, if I am laying down I have to have a blanket to cover up with. I have so many blankets at my house. My mom and both brothers are the same way.

I don't really have to many to tag so I tag Felicia, Kelly, and Beth.

What will Harper do next?!!?

So I was told I am not doing a very good job with this whole blogging thing. I did try to post about the dinner at the Smith's house with pics and video of Harper and Bella putting on a concery but it kept kicking me off so I just gave up. So... here I go trying it again. Hopefully this will work.

What will we all do now that the Olympics are over. This is Daddy and Harper laying on the couch in the sunroom watching the Olympics before bathtime.

Harper helping Mommy get caught up on the blog! :)
My brother and Destiney walked past the office door to find Harper sitting at the computer working away. She knows how to hold her hands on the keyboard and the mouse.

Harper and I went to my parents house on Saturday afternoon. Sunday morning my Dad had left for church and my Mom and I were getting ready to leave for Edina. My Mom walked into her bedroom to find Harper in the middle of her porclin (sp?) dolls. I was never aloud to look at them and think of touching them let alone play with them when I was in middle school. But Harper can. She just sat with the dolls, loved them, put lotion on them, patted them, and had a grand time. My Mom thought it was cute. Had that been me sitting there playing with them, I would not have been able to sit for days!

We went to Edina for my cousin's daugher's 3rd birthday family get together. This is my Grandma with her 3 great grandchildren. I thought it was cute of my Grandma. :)
Harper player her little heart out. They had cows in a pasture not far from where we were so she did alot of "moo"ing and wanting to go look at the cows. She did alot of socializing (I know most of you can not believe that, Harper socializing) She was worn out for the ride home.
